About Us
“We have a passion for sustainable packaging. We just want to make a difference in the world – by supporting our clients to make a difference.”
Have you ever thought about why that water in the store is in the bottle that it is in? Or how about that sunscreen you picked up last summer just before you got to the beach? Maybe that chicken you packed next to the sweet peppers in the grocery bag is a better image?
Well…
Carmen founded PACK Consulting after years of engaging with and reflecting on the way(s) in which materials are used in packaging for the various products we see on our shelves and beyond. From medications like paracetamol to regular vitamin supplements, fresh food to microwaveable ready-meals, skin creams to lipsticks, and household aerosols to dishwashing liquids, so many of our goods’ packaging are often taken-for-granted considerations when we purchase them. But their designs are not by accident.
However, the world is becoming increasingly sensitised to sustainability issues. Therefore, between global challenges such as food waste, climate change, and socio-economic inequality and inequity, the transition towards more sustainable packaging models has never been so crucial.
A part of this comes in the form of complying with established and new legislation to support more sustainable packaging material specifications. However, the business case for decarbonising, reducing material waste, and making informed procurement decisions is clear; having a resilient strategy linked to materials resourcing, manipulation, and packaging production, translates into higher profits, increased product quality, and reduced capital and operational costs.
This is the context in which businesses within the packaging industry exist and in which they must chart a path forward into the future. Carmen established PACK Consulting to help business navigate the changing and uncertain packaging world.
